Four nearly identical speculative office buildings at 165,000-SF each are part of the dramatic growth of Class-A office space for defense information technology contractors eager to locate near the National Security Agency and Fort Meade.

The first three buildings are LEED certified Silver and the fourth LEED Gold. The HVAC systems include a variable air volume outside air delivery system coupled with carbon dioxide sensors to deliver the proper amount of outside air to each floor while minimizing energy consumption. There is a variable speed condenser water pumping system and waterside economizer to serve the water cooled, self-contained units that condition each floor. The plumbing systems feature two-button toilets to reduce fresh water consumption. Separate metering devices monitor the use of lighting, electric heating, air handling units, and mechanical equipment.
