Baltimore County Public Schools
Dundalk/Sollers Point High Schools
Baltimore, MD

A new 365,300-SF building will consolidate the programs of these two nearby schools to the site of the current Dundalk High School.
It is the largest single project undertaken by the County school system and represents a unique combination of two types of high schools — one comprehensive and one technical. A centralized chilled water plant with ultra-high efficiency water-cooled chillers will support the entire building with a ground-source geothermal system supporting program areas that require year-round operation. Several measures were taken in the electrical design to help achieve LEED Silver certification. Site lighting was designed for zero light trespass and is controlled by time clocks. The building will be served by an energy-efficient lighting system with an overall lighting power density 25% below ASHRAE allowable lighting power density levels.
