Commercial Vehicle Inspection Facility
Bethesda, MD

This new facility is divided into two components, the operation area and a 5,400-SF support building, and was designed to meet LEED Silver certification.
It provides document checks and inspection of all commercial vehicles before they are allowed access to the NIH campus and is one of three main components of the perimeter security plan implemented after 9/11 that includes a perimeter fence and visitor center. It operates 24 hours a day. As K-9 screening techniques are part of the screening process, the support building contains a dog kennel in addition to control and administrative space for police officers and a police amenities area.

What Our Clients Say
Due to the importance of mission critical elements and system redundancies for the McConnell Center, the design and contributions of JPA were innumerable and their responsiveness unmatched.
