Public Safety & Transportation Operations Center

Fairfax County and the Commonwealth of Virginia consolidated regional public safety and transportation functions to a new government office park near Dulles International Airport.
The centerpiece is the McConnell Public Safety Transportation and Operations Center. It houses the County’s Emergency Operations and 911 Call Centers under the same roof with the State Police Communications Center and Transportation Traffic Management Center, including a state-of-the-art police forensics laboratory. The 142,000-SF building accommodates more than 400 County and State employees. JPA designed the MEP infrastructure and three levels of mission critical systems for the project, as well as fit-out of all functional spaces.
