A new 580,000 square foot facility under the East Plaza of the U.S. Capitol will serve five million visitors every year. JPA’s design of the MEP infrastructure included state-of-the-art chemical/biological warfare evacuation HVAC systems with five stages of filtration. |

Dirksen Senate Office Building - Capitol Hill Washington, DC |

JPA led a modernization program for this 700,000 square foot Senate Office Building to replace the HVAC, electrical, telecommunications, and fire protection systems. A temporary building in the courtyard of the Russell Senate Office Building housed Senate staff during the 14 phases of construction. |

Rayburn House Office Building - Capitol Hill Washington, DC |

At 2,000,000 square feet, the Rayburn is the largest of the U.S. House Office Buildings. JPA was the prime design firm for a modernization program to improve sprinkler protection and telecommunications throughout, including more than 35,000 linear feet of fully accessible raceway for power and data cabling. |

James Senate Office Building - Maryland State Office Ctr Annapolis, MD |

Renovation of the 1938 building within the historic State office center campus provided new senate office suites and hearing rooms. In an innovative approach to increase space, the unused attic was converted to a mechanical equipment room. JPA also designed the MEP systems for a 95,000 square foot addition to the neighboring Lowe House of Delegates Building. |

Public Safety and Transportation Operations Center - Fairfax County Government Fair Lakes, VA |

Fairfax County and the Commonwealth of Virginia are consolidating regional public safety and transportation in a new government office park. The 142,000 square foot project centerpiece will house the County’s emergency operations and 911 call centers under the same roof with the State police communications and transportation traffic management centers. |
