James Posey Associates entered its 94th year in 2005. Since our founding in 1911 by Baltimore engineer James Posey, the firm has been led by only three generations of principals. Our engineering staff has been with us for an average of 15 years. Continuity of leadership and an exceptionally high rate of staff retention are essential to the trust, reliability, and consistent level of engineering excellence we offer our clients.

Our practice is focused on institutional, governmental and industrial facilities. We have particular expertise in the fields of education, healthcare, laboratories, public buildings, and historic preservation. We provide engineering services from project concept through final contract documents and construction phase support.

With a staff of 60, including 15 Professional Engineers, we have the size and capability to handle large, complex projects. However, we continue to adhere to a business approach that places a premium on personal client attention and the ability to meet tight budgets and short schedules.

Created by experienced engineers, designers and highly-trained CAD technicians who recognize that inaccurate drawings contribute to delays and costly change orders, our contract documents are recognized by clients for their completeness and coordination.
